Qinzhou University (QU) is the only public university in the coastal area of Guangxi Province of China. QU is the only qualified University for senior seafarers’ education and training in Guangxi. The University of Haikou Province is a private university chiefly focusing on undergraduate programs covering fields like economics, management, engineering, literature, arts and education. Founded in 1974 as a college, the school was later transformed into an undergraduate university under the approval of the Ministry of Education in March 2008.
